9-10th Grade Writing Curriculum

Students will explore all aspects of the writing process for expository writing: Pre-writing, drafting, revising, editing and final copy.
Students will learn the techniques to write effective essays: Lead-in sentences and thesis statements as part of a strong introduction.
Body paragraphs with thoughtful assertions and effective examples as proof. A conclusion that does not merely repeat the introduction but
looks forward. The fundamentals of English grammar will also be emphasized: usage, punctuation and sentence structure. Students will write
during class and as part of homework assignments as well.
